چکیده

Methylthionine Chloride (MTC), commonly known as methylene blue, is a substance widely used in medical and clinical industry indicator, various diseases treatment diagnostic. When MTC discarded out of the organism, it becomes residue which ends wastewater plants not treated or removed properly because has synthetic origin, providing with stability chemical structure difficult to break. In present work, was through advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) photolysis heterogeneous photocatalysis, three pH magnitudes (3.5, 7.2 9.5), comparing when 1 mMol H2O2/L sample added at beginning experiment. degradation reached 62.9 54.14%, for photocatalysis respectively, both acid conditions adding H2O2 sample. Kinetic constants (K) were calculated, showing more effective; likewise, half life time decreases under these conditions. With Student-t statistic test, K from compared, resulting acidic basic significantly different, but neutral.

High efficient degradation of Cefixime using UV/TiO2 photocatalytic process: A comparison between photocatalytic and photolytic

Introduction: The existence of pharmaceuticals in aquatic ecosystem, their persistence and possible effects on living organisms and inefficient systems in removal of these compounds from water and wastewater are a growing concern. In this research, the UV/TiO2 photocatalytic degradation of Cefixime was investigated so as to identify if this method was efficient for removal of Cefixime or not. ...

Photocatalytic (UV-A/TiO2) degradation and photolytic (UV-A) degradation of steroid hormones: norethisterone and danazol in aqueous medium

In this paper, the photocatalytic (UV-A/TiO2) degradation of two steroid hormones: norethisterone and danazol in aqueous medium has been studied using immobilized titanium dioxide as photocatalyst. The photolytic degradation (degradation without photocatalyst) of the two hormones was also investigated. UV-A irradiation was provided by black light lamp 18 W. The photocatalytic and photolytic deg...

Photolytic and photocatalytic decolorization of Lauth's violet using nano-titanium dioxide: A kinetics study

Photolysis and photocatalysis of Lauth's violet using nano-titanium dioxide at various aqueous buffer and non-buffer pHs. The effects of some various operating parameters such as initial dye concentration, medium pH, illumination time and catalyst amount have been investigated in a photoreactor equipped with high pressure mercury lamp. Spectrophotometric methods supported that the dye is al...

Photochemical reactions and on-line UV detection in microfabricated reactors.

This work presents an application of microfabricated reactors and detectors for photochemical reactions. Two fabrication schemes were demonstrated for the integration of the reaction and the detection modules: coupling individually packaged chips, and monolithic integration of the two functions. In the latter fabrication scheme, we have succeeded in bonding quartz wafers to patterned silicon wa...

UV/TiO2 photocatalytic degradation of xanthene dyes.

UV/titanium dioxide (TiO(2)) degradation of two xanthene dyes, erythrosine B (Ery) and eosin Y (Eos), was studied in a photocatalytic reactor. Photocatalysis was able to degrade 98% of Ery and 73% of Eos and led to 65% of chemical oxygen demand removal. Experiments in buffered solutions at different initial pH values reveal the pH dependence of the process, with better results obtained under ac...
